Think again. A not-so-new breed of malware called cryptolocker (or ransomware) is spreading wildly like forest fires worldwide. <strong>Can your current anti-malware prevent ransomware attacks?</strong></p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">One of the most notorious of these ransomware programs is the infamous WannaCry. It uses an exploit in the Windows operating system that has been leaked from the National Security Agency (NSA).</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">In a nutshell, WannaCry, like all other ransomware, encrypts your important data and files and demands money for your files to be decrypted. Currently, anti-malware software and ransomware removal tools can eliminate the virus—not decrypt your files.</p><div style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;"><img alt="prevent ransomware, cyber crime, malware" src="https://images.surferseo.art/1272b4d9-6ab7-4d02-9cdd-6188115e7c5e.jpeg" /></div><h2 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>How a Cryptolocker like WannaCry Works</strong></h2><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">First off, you need to understand that WannaCry is a worm. A worm is malicious software (or malware) that needs not be installed. The moment you receive a copy of the virus and you click on it to access it, the virus will have found its way to your computer.</p><h3 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>Where do you get it?</strong></h3><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">There are three ways WannaCry and other cryptolocker viruses are spread:</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">First, you download it as an attachment to a file or from a website, thinking it’s something else. It could disguise itself as a document or as a program. Usually, it will have a misleading extension. Common extensions are JPEG, DOC, and PDF.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Second, it can be spread through storage media. Since it’s a worm, the moment you insert a flash drive, for example, into an infected computer, you’ll get it into that drive. The virus will be transferred to the next unprotected computer inserted into the drive.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">The third method unique to the WannyCry cryptolocker is self-replication via a network. Purportedly, WannyCry utilizes an exploit in the Windows operating system, among many security vulnerabilities of the OS, that NSA is allegedly using to access other people's computers remotely.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Once WannaCry infects a computer, it scans for computers within the same network that has the exploit. After it finds such a computer, it replicates itself into that computer.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">The thing about this cryptolocker is you don’t know it’s there—it doesn’t manifest itself, at least in ways we know—until it’s finished encrypting all important files. Thus, the malware infection can spread to other computers via an infected computer.</p><h3 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>What it does</strong></h3><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">A cryptolocker encrypts only the important files such as documents, pictures, videos, and other files on the computer except for the system files.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">It doesn’t encrypt the system files because it wants you to boot and log in to your computer so that you know that your files are locked up and that you will want to unlock them.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">After the virus is finished encrypting files, it will generate a key to decrypt the files and send the key to a remote server. It will then remove the copy of the key from the computer. This ensures that you won’t have any way of decrypting your files other than playing the ransom and trusting that the malware will download the key and decrypt your files.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">You will know that the virus is finished encrypting your files because a window will appear informing you of your demise. The malware will also change your desktop background to an image containing more virus information.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">You can’t close the window the malware opens, but you can click on the next button. Clicking on such a button directs you to the payment process instructions.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Currently, ransomware programs demand that a victim pay the ransom of 2 bitcoins or 300 hundred dollars. However, Bitcoin is a preferred payment method since it’s difficult, if not impossible, to trace. After making a payment, the malware is expected to decrypt the files and remove itself.</p><h3 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>Is there a guarantee that the malware will decrypt your file after payment?</strong></h3><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">There is not. The malware is good at encrypting files. That’s what we know so far. Decryption is not always likely. Thus, paying is not advisable because you risk losing to the virus twice.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">If you were infected, the most you can do is remove the virus, discard all encrypted files, and move on from there. In these times where data breaches and cyber threats are common, having redundant data backups kept and regularly updated via a private network is necessary </p><h2 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>How to Protect Yourself from WannaCry and other Ransomware</strong></h2><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Encryption is a very advanced technology designed to protect users from access from external sources. The same technology, however, is currently used to harm other people. Currently, there are no simple ways to decrypt files without the key. Not even the best anti-ransomware software can provide the means to recover locked files and documents.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">The best way is to protect yourself from getting infected. Here are some tips you can do:</p><h3 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>Install All Windows Updates</strong></h3><div style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: center;"><img alt="upgrade, windows, laptop" src="https://images.surferseo.art/1c054925-f5f0-465a-a29e-292b49fa1284.jpeg" /></div><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">After hearing about the exploit, Windows immediately released an update for all its operating systems—even the unsupported ones. The problems are not all computers are connected to the Internet, and some computers are on limited bandwidth or a metered connection thus limiting their access to the latest security patches.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Thus, not everyone was able to download the update on time. Some computers are still even unpatched.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">To date, WannaCry ransomware has infected over 200,000 computers and placed a great toll on 10,000 organizations in over 150 countries worldwide.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Thus, whatever Windows you’re running in, update it. Connect to the Internet, download all updates and install them. This will allow you to download recent updates and fixes and will remove the exploit.</p><h3 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>Install an Anti-Malware and Update It Regularly</strong></h3><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">There are a lot of free anti-malware programs on the Internet today. However, paid antimalware programs are a lot better.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Kaspersky, for instance, is one of the leading antimalware programs that actively upgrade itself periodically to protect your computer from ransomware.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">It is also important that you update whatever program you are using to protect yourself from cryptolocker regularly. This ensures that the list and algorithms of your program can detect and remove the malware effectively.</p><h3 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>Disable Macros and Scripts in MS Office and Excel</strong></h3><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Without strong antivirus software or ransomware protection, malware can install itself and run from MS Office and MS Excel through codes hidden within a file. The incidence of <a href="https://www.computerweekly.com/news/252461103/Document-based-malware-on-the-rise-businesses-warned" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">document-based malware</a>, exploiting a weakness in the operating system's security protocols, is steadily increasing.</p><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Programs attached to documents easily proliferate because they can be sent surreptitiously through legit files. Without an anti-malware program, the malware can easily execute itself in the background and do its nasty job.</p><h3 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>Backup</strong></h3><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Purchase a storage media like a portable external hard drive and back your data up periodically. That way, when you are hit by ransomware unprepared, you’ll only lose files and data from the last time you backed up to the present. Also, starting from the available backup files will be much more convenient than starting from scratch.</p><h2 style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;"><strong>Conclusion</strong></h2><p style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; text-align: left;">Ransomware like WannaCry is designed to self-replicate and exploit the vulnerabilities in operating systems. You can do this by downloading and installing the latest Windows update and by installing and updating an antimalware program like Kaspersky with a paid or premium license. It also helps to disable any remote desktop protocol, prevent unauthorized network access, isolate any suspected infected systems, and send any infected devices to a software security team.</p><p></p><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #1a1a1a; font-family: Merriweather, Georgia, serif;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><p></p></div></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">Finally, the wearable tech that Pokémon Go fans were promised almost a year ago after the game has been launched will be released on September 16, 2016.</span><br />
<br />
A lot of people, avid fans, and critics alike have had issues with the need to keep oneself pinned to the phone’s screen while playing Pokémon Go. For one, it has put many people to danger and has even caused the accidents of some.<br />
<br />
Pokémon Go Plus is the game’s companion device designed to enable players to play Pokémon Go with minimal screen interaction. The design of the device is a cross between Google map’s pin and the Poké ball which can either be worn around the wrist (similar to a watch) or pinned to clothes. It can also be stuffed in one’s pocket (preferably, chest pocket).<br />
<br />
The Pokémon Go Plus device connects to the phone (and the game) through a low-energy Bluetooth technology (Bluetooth® Smart) that is utilized by health and fitness gadgets and devices.<br />
<br />
What the $35-device does is it allows one to catch nearby Pokémons that you already previously caught with just a touch of a button. Similarly, you can just press the device’s button to collect resources from a PokéStop.<br />
<br />
Whenever a Pokémon or a PokéStop is nearby, the device lights up and vibrate. If it is a nearby Pokémon similar to one that you already caught, you will have a chance to catch it with just a push of a button. The device will light up notifying you if you successfully caught the Pokémon. The device lights up with a different color for a nearby Pokémon and PokéStop.<br />
<br />
While the device allows you to play Pokémon Go and interact with the Pokémon World without having to gaze at your phone's screen constantly, it does not have much of an advantage, however.<br />
It will allow a fast collection of resources from PokéStops since all you need to do is to press a button instead of having to open your phone, flip the PokéStop and manually collect the resources. Most probably, however, you will still check the app on the phone. After all, what good is a Pokémon game if you cannot see the Pokémon you are catching?<br />
<br />
Besides catching Pokemon and completing the Pokédex, another great thing about the game is Pokémon Battle. Currently, there is no information whether the device lights up or vibrates whenever there is a nearby gym.<br />
<br />
Until the device is officially released and properly evaluated, the best guess for it is that it is only useful as a companion device. The quality of the gaming experience, though can be enhanced by the device, still depends on playing the game through the app and the phone’s screen.<br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Although this is a pretty common issue and has been around for years now, still, others find it difficult to create an Apple ID or sign up for an Apple ID account without a credit card. Most Apple devices are usable without one but the need to create an Apple ID comes up whenever one attempts to download from the App Store app, iBooks app or iTunes Store app.</span><br />
<br />
Others create Apple ID account, in addition to their existing account (or accounts) to download apps or contents that are not offered in their region. They accounts account using another location or country (e.g. UK or US) to bypass the said restriction.<br />
<br />
The main problem for that is they cannot download apps without a credit card, hence, they have to provide a payment method with which they have to disclose their billing address—unless of course they know how to make free apple ID without credit card.<br />
<br />
Here are some steps on how to make an Apple ID without a credit card:<br />
<br />
<ol>
<li>Open the iBooks app, iTunes Store app or the App Store app on an iPad, iPod touch or an iPhone.<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

</li>
<li>Choose any free book, video, song or app. Some tutorials suggest downloading a free content from the Top Charts. For now, it doesn’t matter whether you download it from the Top Charts or not, as long as it’s free. (Of course, you can always repeat the process and download a free content from the Top Charts if the steps outlined here failed to let you bypass the payment method).</li>
<li>Tap the Get button twice to get the content.</li>
<li>You will be prompted to sign in with an Apple ID. Simple tap Create New Apple ID.(Note: If you already have an Apple ID, and you’ve signed in to Apps Store, iBooks Store or iTunes Store using that ID, you can simply remove the payment method for that account first before starting the steps outlined here. You’d be asked to enter the payment method after you get a content from the stores).</li>
<li>Follow the on screen instructions and supply the necessary information. In the billing information, select None at the bottom of the list provided.<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

</tbody></table>
</li>
<li>You will be prompted to verify you Apple ID account by email.</li>
<li>An email will be sent to the email address you provided during sign up with the code for verification.</li>
<li>After you have successfully verified your Apple ID, you’re now free to use it to download the content that you like.</li>
</ol>
<br />
<br />
I hope you find this tutorial on how to create a free Apple ID useful. You can now download apps without credit card. Enjoy!<br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">While you break a sweat, hopping from one place to another and hoping to get ahold of a new Pokémon, someone from the East London has already caught all 145 Pokémons that are currently catchable. He’s earned himself the title of a Pokemon Go master and he’s a proof that it can be done. You better gotta catch ‘em all, then.</span><br />
<br />
Earlier on July, a man from New York was reported to have completed his North American Pokédex by catching all 143 Pokémons that are catchable in the US. He failed to catch the three regional Pokémons that are only catchable outside US: Kangaskhan (Australia and New Zealand), Mr. Mime (Europe) and Farfetch’d (Asia).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRNe0t_FywIZEYqxHd5KQg6Q0zqKIN0z7SbOn2u4wqJvSJMDfcWVbOsx1D8eyuFE7bRI522EWVrEvO3acE8oVAzcNQu1OsJI4Hw9X2hXqVQSXqdlc4x_Ial4JCUDdhY82BvMSulljhcAA/s1600/pokemon-go-complete-pokedex.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Complete North American Pokédex from Pokémon Go with 142 Pokémons" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRNe0t_FywIZEYqxHd5KQg6Q0zqKIN0z7SbOn2u4wqJvSJMDfcWVbOsx1D8eyuFE7bRI522EWVrEvO3acE8oVAzcNQu1OsJI4Hw9X2hXqVQSXqdlc4x_Ial4JCUDdhY82BvMSulljhcAA/s1600/pokemon-go-complete-pokedex.png" title="Pokédex with 142 Pokémons " /></a></div>
<br />
Ahmed Ali, 23, is the first known Pokémon fan and Pokémon Go to have ever caught 145 Pokémons making him the first official Pokémon Go master to have (nearly) caught all Pokémons. Currently, only the first generation Pokémons are said to be catchable in Pokémon Go.<br />
<br />
Mewtwo, mew, ditto and the legendary Pokémons Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos are said to be uncatchable this time. Perhaps, you can only try, you’ll never actually gotta catch ‘em all.<br />
Ahmed recently graduated from Queen Mary University with a degree in mathematics. A few months later, the game was officially released to the market and he got the chance to play the game. He has a lot of time doing so because his work doesn’t start yet until September this year.<br />
<br />
He was so obsessed, he even flew to places, including America, just to complete his Pokédex. He admitted that while the experience was fun, his parents were displeased and considers what he did an awful waste of time.<br />
<br />
Pokémon Go is based on the popular game of Nintendo, Pokémon, with the motto: gotta catch ‘em all. The main goal of the game for now, is to catch all Pokémon. Catching all Pokémon, then, is considered to be a great feat for Pokémon Go players and Pokémon fanatics.<br />
<br />
While all rare Pokémons are yet to be offered, either through an event or something similar, 145 is the standard for Pokédex completeness.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">When one talks about hardcore gaming and video rendering, one cannot take away the need to associate a combination of a powerful CPU and graphics cards. But what if you meet a processor that is so powerful, you will not need a graphics card to decode even a 4K video with ease? Such is the case with the new Intel Core i7 processor codenamed “Kaby Lake”.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The power of the new Intel Core i7 processor was demonstrated at the IDF 2016 San Francisco by the Intel CEO Brian Krzanich on a Dell XPS. Kaby Lake was more than capable of handling a gameplay of Overwatch at maximum settings and display a considerable ease decoding 4K GoPro videos.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Initially, Intel planned on releasing Cannon Lake, the first of their 10nm processors. Such plan was put off for later to give way to the last of the 14nm processors which, by the way, is surprising us with a record-breaking performance.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Integrated graphics chipsets from Intel have failed to give us what we need for years. Although they have been pretty much useful with assisting graphics related tasks, when it comes to hardcore video rendering, a powerful graphics card is still required.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The release of the “Kaby Lake” will put pressure on the advancement of the graphics card technologies. The new Intel Core i7 processor will begin a chain reaction that will push and redefine the boundaries and limits of video rendering and gaming.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As the number of transistors double per square inch each year (Moore’s Law) and as Intel processors transcend the 10nm domain, expect more powerful processors in the future.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The new Intel Core i7 processor will hit the market later this year and is expected to be received by enthusiasts and professionals with extreme anticipation.</div>

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , "sans-serif";"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , "sans-serif";">Most probably, however, they have found that it does not work that way. You have to reduce the gym reputation to zero to do that and that requires many battles. That is, if your Pokémon survives the ordeal. The thing is, you must have the means to restore the health of your Pokémons after every battle to do just that.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi17doGuJo-2O8_07mdk4MOpS_4OO4JoAtVugllVQ_pGvtnYNciPgywlFo0LD2tXV0pl9K9iDDetPfw4dtfcVx6RCUeIR29OE6sLSrXG4eonZxNj8YRSdQomEDihJ1f3w5vbrE3Uwl1QDc/s1600/P1090270-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="425" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi17doGuJo-2O8_07mdk4MOpS_4OO4JoAtVugllVQ_pGvtnYNciPgywlFo0LD2tXV0pl9K9iDDetPfw4dtfcVx6RCUeIR29OE6sLSrXG4eonZxNj8YRSdQomEDihJ1f3w5vbrE3Uwl1QDc/s640/P1090270-1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It is typical to expect the conventional Hard Disk Drives (HDD) to reach or surpass the five-terabyte mark since these mechanical drives have been doubling or tripling in capacities for years. The revolutionary Solid State Drives, however, seems to follow a bit different trend.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For one, while solid state drives are remarkably faster than HDDs, they are offered in much smaller capacities. The largest consumer-friendly SSD drives that most of us are familiar with are the 500Gb SSD drives and the 1Tb SSD drives.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Samsung had recently broken the record when they unleashed the first ever SSD drive to have surpassed the 10Tb mark—the Samsung PM1633a. The technology behind this new line of SSD is not new. Intel has been exploiting 3D V-NAND technology and is planning to release their 10Gb SSD drive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Most solid state drives, especially those reaching high capacities such as the 1Tb SSD and 500Gb SSD drives we are most accustomed of, requires much energy. It seems that the energy expenditure of SSD drives utilizing the conventional NAND (negative-AND) flash memory increases as the capacity increases.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This 16Tb SSD drive from Samsung, however, cuts energy consumption by as much as 30%. This reduction in the energy expenditure results in a 30% reduction in thermal output. With this new technology, SSD drives can also achieve read and write speeds of up to 1200MB/s. Compared to conventional solid state drives, SSD benchmark tests reveal that Samsung PM1633a is twice as fast as most SSDs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
With this new storage capacity at a speed we have never experienced before, we can now store much information into a single drive at the convenience of our home, at twice the access speed we are used to.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As what we have observed with most of Solid State Drives, as the capacity increases so is the price (as found with most 1Tb SSD and 500 Gb SSD drives). Samsung PM1633a’s main drawback is that it is, as of the moment, offered at a whopping $10,000.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you do not have as much money to spare, or not as enthusiastic as most, you will have to contend with your usual SSD-HDD hybrid drives for capacity or your cloud-based storage. Still, the 16Tb Solid State Drive from Samsung gives us the image of what future may hold—a future where Terabyte is the new norm for storage capacity.</div>

<span style="color: black;"><img alt="Person trying to track a cellphone" border="0" height="400" src="https://lh6.ggpht.com/-ZIrF5a-ptFs/VBzp8DzdfMI/AAAAAAAAAUk/J8Hch675prM/laptop_1868410b_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="How to tract phone in case of theft" width="640" /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
Rampant poverty, especially in third world countries, has prompted those who are destitute to seek all possible means of survival. Among the most common is mobile phone theft. Phones could be stolen with or without your notice. As most phones today contain a person's necessary files and data including their contacts, schedules, and credentials, a phone loss could be traumatic and emotionally upsetting.</div>
<div align="justify">
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
Fortunately, Google offers a way for Android phone users to track a cell phone, make their phones ring (in case the phone is within the area and the owner would like to expose the thief), lock the phone to restrict access or erase their personal files.</div>
<div align="justify">
<br /></div>
<div align="justify">
<span style="color: black;"><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-67pYRKTyRw4/VBzp9ZX-dsI/AAAAAAAAAUs/SwCBMmVXuG8/s1600-h/use%252520IMEI%252520number%252520information%252520mobile%252520phone%25255B9%25255D%25255B3%25255D.jpg"><img alt="How to find your phone's IMEI" border="0" height="292" src="https://lh6.ggpht.com/-bjhwPjWX2gs/VBzp-7OevgI/AAAAAAAAAU0/Vl7BE-fjOXc/use%252520IMEI%252520number%252520information%252520mobile%252520phone%25255B9%25255D_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="IMEI" width="377" /></a></span><br />
<br />
<ol>
<li><b>Keep a record of your IMEI. Every phone has a unique International Mobile Station Equipment Identity number which will help you identify your phone.</b> Although IMEI can't be used to track a cell phone, this will help you prove (establish) ownership to the phone. Keep a record of it or keep the box containing it. The IMEI is usually located at inside the back of the phone after you remove the battery. </li>
<li><b>Register and maintain a Google account. </b>You need to have a working Google account. It should be the same account that you used to register your phone (or your Google Playstore). Remember, without this information, it is almost impossible to track a cell phone that was stolen or lost.</li>
<li><b>Download Android Device Manager to your Phone.</b> This step is optional. It doesn’t help you trace your phone in case it got lost but it will help you trace where it currently is. You can download Android Device Manager via the Google Play Store.</li>
<li><b>Enable location access in your device.</b> Navigate to Settings>Location Services and enable Access to my location. Although location services consumes battery power, enabling it can help you track phone easily after it was stolen or lost.</li>
<li><b>Report loss to the police.</b> Before attempting to track phone, file a report to the authorities establishing your ownership to the phone using your IMEI and other documents and supplying other necessary information such as the date and location of incidence.</li>
<li><b>Log-in to Google. </b>To locate your phone, log-in to Google device manager. You will see a list of your registered devices. You can locate, lock, erase or ring your phone.</li>
<li><b>Enlist the help of an authority/a police before confronting the thief.</b> Never confront the thief alone. Inform the local police about locating your phone using Google Device Manager and have them confront the thief once located.</li>
<li><b>Spread this information. </b>Inform as many as you can about this. Not only will you protect them from theft, it will also warn thieves of the danger of stealing an Android phone that is registered to Google.</li>
</ol>
<br />
Hope this helps! Smile</div>

<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-5qwoPwcaHkg/VAZbeL_G3NI/AAAAAAAAASs/CSOOXe1IGNE/s1600-h/Excel2013-1%25255B4%25255D.png"><img alt="Microsoft Excel 2013 welcome screen" border="0" height="360" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-4WP8Fr9EhTc/VAZbhqKrBQI/AAAAAAAAAS0/k6YeHhdjeOg/Excel2013-1_thumb%25255B2%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Microsoft Excel 2013" width="640" /></a><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">There is performance related problem inherent to Microsoft Excel 2013 that is not found in previous versions and mostly affect computers with minimal video processing power—they tend to malfunction or run slower. While Microsoft Excel 2013 is filled with new features, including new formulas that can improve productivity, installing and using Excel 2013 in low-end computers like netbooks can make your experience a bit frustrating.</span><br />
<br />
The problem is somewhat related to the program's response to hardware acceleration settings of the computer. This commonly affects netbooks and computers which rely on hardware acceleration to boost graphics-related performance.<br />
<br />
The problem extends from Excel 2013's initial loading up process which takes time to using the software itself.<br />
<br />
The solution is quite simple, though: <strong><span style="color: #f79646;">DISABLE GRAPHICS ACCELERATION</span></strong> and you’ll have a faster Microsoft Excel 2013.<br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: #f79646;">These are the steps to disable graphics acceleration and make Microsoft Excel 2013 run faster:</span></strong><br />
<strong><span style="color: #f79646;"><br /></span></strong> 1. Check first whether you Excel 2013 could be boosted by this solution by starting it in safe mode. You can do this by pressing windows key + R and typing ‘excel.exe /s’ (without the quotation marks).<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-uu-yfGxRxBE/VAZbj6hRwuI/AAAAAAAAAS8/mXUNmrzXRC4/s1600-h/Run%25255B7%25255D.png"><img alt="Opening Microsoft Excel 2013 in safe mode using the run command" border="0" height="249" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-5GxhUneXnFU/VAZboKKdLJI/AAAAAAAAATE/djRDPfq-aYc/Run_thumb%25255B3%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Run" width="486" /></a><br />
<br />
2. Open any file and see whether there are changes. If your excel runs faster in safe mode, then disabling graphics acceleration could be the answer.<br />
<br />
3. press windows key + R and type “regedit”.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-aNxD2t7ZrN0/VAZbqchMhJI/AAAAAAAAATM/87uHbj3hY8o/s1600-h/regedit%25255B4%25255D.png"><img alt="Accessing the registry editor using the run command." border="0" height="249" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-yUej8nwQM5Q/VAZbsspiYAI/AAAAAAAAATU/AmfDmBlDCEo/regedit_thumb%25255B2%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="regedit" width="486" /></a><br />
<br />
4. Browse to <span style="color: #f79646;"><b>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common</b></span>5. Create a new <b>Key</b> and name it <span style="color: #f79646;"><strong>Acceleration</strong>.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #f79646;"><a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-NuvCCZABs2Q/VAZbuFrtNQI/AAAAAAAAATc/PRtGO5M7ik0/s1600-h/Capture%25255B4%25255D.png"><img alt="Creating the acceleration folder in the registry" border="0" height="511" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/--nHb-CEh2hI/VAZbxbUT-1I/AAAAAAAAATk/KJwDYn8vtyg/Capture_thumb%25255B2%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Capture" width="262" /></a></span><br />
<br />
6. Select the folder you just created, right-click on the right panel and create a New <b>DWORD (32-bit) Value</b> and name it <span style="color: #f79646;"><b>DisableGraphicsAcceleration (or anything you want for that matter)</b>.</span><br />
<span style="color: #f79646;"><br /></span> <a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-kSzhQfk5Izw/VAZbygW9NpI/AAAAAAAAATs/ymkO8ZQ7050/s1600-h/Capture%25255B10%25255D.png"><img alt="Registry entry for disabling the graphic acceleration for Excel 2013" border="0" height="338" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-iuUeR3wX5B8/VAZb0uTgPWI/AAAAAAAAAT0/RwsPP7V0FBQ/Capture_thumb%25255B6%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Disabling graphic acceleration for Excel 2013" width="486" /></a><span style="color: #f79646;"></span><br />

<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-EwXS5xtsCiM/VADcFhGt_PI/AAAAAAAAARc/g9qgHuv3Th0/s1600-h/599241_477608608930134_417270456_n%25255B5%25255D.jpg"><img alt="599241_477608608930134_417270456_n" border="0" height="640" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-NxTNYtXkhIk/VADcHu5qpzI/AAAAAAAAARk/30orxPPHPko/599241_477608608930134_417270456_n_thumb%25255B3%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="599241_477608608930134_417270456_n" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
First, I want to inform you that <strong><span style="color: #f79646;">THERE ARE NO EXISTING HACKS THAT WOULD MAKE YOU HAVE LOTS OF GEMS</span>.</strong> So stop searching for gem hacks.<br />
The reason why you can’t get free gems is because Clash of Clans is server-based. That means, however you meddle with your game in your device, the figures will always be based on what is recorded/saved on server. You can only try as much as get yourself banned from the game.<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">Now, how do we get gems in Clash of Clans?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span> <strong><span style="font-size: medium;">Answer: <span style="color: #f79646;">WE BUY THEM FROM GOOGLE PLAY</span></span></strong><br />
<strong><span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="color: #f79646;"><br /></span></span></strong> <span style="font-size: medium;">Can we do that without spending real money? Answer: <strong><span style="color: #f79646;">YES.</span></strong></span><br />
The answer is<span style="font-size: medium;"> <strong><span style="color: #f79646;">FEATUREPOINTS</span></strong></span><a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-mwk-XYYPgiM/VADcInmDxoI/AAAAAAAAARs/ArV00oJD_FM/s1600-h/logo%2525402x%25255B5%25255D.png"><img alt="logo@2x" border="0" height="108" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-F0wYheLE4bw/VADcKBfio_I/AAAAAAAAAR0/tSYzWAEjtdI/logo%2525402x_thumb%25255B7%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="logo@2x" width="459" /></a><br />
It’s an app that lets you accumulate points by downloading suggested applications. The points can then be used to redeem prizes including a $10 Gift Card on Google Play which can be used to purchase 1,200 gems.<br />

<strong><span style="color: #f79646; font-size: small;"><br /></span></strong> <strong><span style="color: #f79646; font-size: small;">STEP 1:</span> </strong>Download the application here:<br />
<br />
<strong><a href="http://featu.re/RKCHBS" target="_blank">DOWNLOAD HERE</a></strong><br />
<br />
You will be asked to enter a promotional/referral code. Just try this out for 50 points:<br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: #ffc000; font-size: medium;">RKCHBS</span></strong><br />
<strong><span style="color: #ffc000; font-size: medium;"><br /></span></strong>
<span style="color: #f79646; font-size: small;"><strong>STEP 2: </strong></span>Download and install the applications suggested by FeaturePoints. Next to the Apps are the corresponding points that you will earn by downloading them.<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-xP4Wf4C_-cI/VADcTGAYgpI/AAAAAAAAASM/QgokQULQZVg/s1600-h/Screenshot_2014-08-30-03-48-46%25255B4%25255D.png"><img alt="Screenshot_2014-08-30-03-48-46" border="0" height="576" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-bqVS7NecO2M/VADcV9bl1iI/AAAAAAAAASU/nRh7BrADomQ/Screenshot_2014-08-30-03-48-46_thumb%25255B2%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-top: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Screenshot_2014-08-30-03-48-46" width="324" /></a><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #f79646; font-size: small;"><strong>STEP 3: </strong></span>Earn more points by sharing this app to friends. You get 50 percept worth of their points each time they download an app. Say for example they download Castle Clash from the suggested apps displayed in the picture above which has a corresponding FP points of 22. Each time your referrals download the app, you get 11 points while they get 22.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #f79646; font-size: small;"><strong>STEP 4: </strong></span>Earn a total of 6,000 points to redeem a Google Play Gift card worth $10. Use this to buy gems in Clash of Clans.<br />
<br />
Now you can be a little further ahead of others with your 1,200 gems. Of course you can earn more. You can redeem $20 for 12,000 points, for example, which would afford you 2,500 gems.<br />
<br />
Hope this helps! <img alt="Smile" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-smile" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-enLCQUTZvY8/VADcW_CYENI/AAAAAAAAASc/rg2v4Dp9hxY/wlEmoticon-smile%25255B2%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-top-style: none;" />Mark Jay V. <i>Symptoms: Number keypad (the number pad at the right hand side of the keyboard) does not work. When “Num Lock” key is pressed (and Num Lock indicator is lit”, number does not appear when the keys are pressed.</i><br />
<br />
This solution assumes that the number pad of keyboard is not damaged physically. This solution further assumes that keyboard is not working only in either Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 and works fine with other versions of Microsoft Windows.<br />
<br />
The typical symptom of this misconfiguration in the settings is that instead of inputting or printing numbers when number pad is pressed, the pointer moves.<br />
<br />
<b>Solution: Disable “use numeric keypad to move mouse around the screen” option.</b><br />
<br />
1. Go to settings>ease of access.<br />
<br />
2. Under “mouse” turn off “use numeric keypad to move mouse around the screen option.<br />

<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-fcXmRaNj5Fo/T3MRnLwr1LI/AAAAAAAAAK4/XzDOwrglpPs/s1600-h/virtual-windows-xp-mode%25255B11%25255D.jpg"><img alt="virtual-windows-xp-mode" border="0" height="501" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-F64QVxS4e6o/T3MRr-bscGI/AAAAAAAAALA/ariIQeopZFc/virtual-windows-xp-mode_thumb%25255B10%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin: 0px auto 1px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="virtual-windows-xp-mode" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
I installed Windows XP mode on my Windows 7 for me to experience Windows Virtual Environment. However, I found out that, as much as it consumes a lot of RAM, it also requires (and consumes) a lot of disk space. I uninstalled the program via “Programs and Features” under Control Panel and found out later that files inside the folder “Windows Virtual Machines” of the folder “Program Files” contain file “Windows XP Mode Base.vhd” at more than 1 Gb. However, I found that the conventional Shift + Del command cannot remove the file.<br />
<br />
Here’s how:<br />
<ol>
<li>Press “delete”. This will move the file from the folder to the recycle bin.</li>
<li>Instead of emptying the recycle bin which will “remove the file from the list of files inside the bin but will actually retain the actual file in the actual folder, use CCleaner to empty recycle bin.</li>
<li>Voila, 1 Gb of more of your disk space is restored—ready to be stored with a lot more valuable data.</li>
</ol>

<br />
While optical drives become increasingly inconvenient and while flash drives and becoming more popularly handy and useful, it is not a surprise when more and more people wishes to use a “Windows Recovery Flash Drive” than a “Windows Recovery Disk”. The problem, you won’t find the option to “Create Windows Recovery Flash Drive” anywhere in windows.<br />
Now here’s a quick and easy way to do that:<br />
<ol>
<li>Create a bootable flash drive.</li>
<li>Create a windows recovery disk.</li>
<li>Transfer the content of the windows recovery disk in the bootable flash drive.</li>
</ol>
To create a bootable flash drive:<br />
<ol>
<li>Open “Command Prompt”,</li>
<li>Type “diskpart” (minus the quotation marks"),</li>
<li>Type “list disk”,</li>
<li>Choose the disk (with the corresponding disk number for the flash drive, say DISK 2) and type select DISK 2,</li>
<li>type “Clean” and enter,</li>
<li>type “create partition primary” and enter,</li>
<li>type “active” and enter,</li>
<li>type “format fs=ntfs quick” and enter,</li>
<li>exit command prompt and copy the contents of the windows recovery disk to the flash drive, and</li>
<li>you’ll have a bootable fd.</li>

<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-qY9QoAeDpwU/TxRB5tOop0I/AAAAAAAAAKY/ji5Sjzgynuw/s1600-h/1189819543B3Kj1z%25255B11%25255D.png"><img alt="1189819543B3Kj1z" border="0" height="366" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-MsmlvU_6MMo/TxRCSBtii-I/AAAAAAAAAKg/gFHsfJyOPdI/1189819543B3Kj1z_thumb%25255B13%25255D.png?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="1189819543B3Kj1z" width="400" /></a><br />
When drives are infected with certain types of computer virus or when a flash drive is inserted into an infected computer, files could be hidden for which the option to unhide them using the right click button (with a mouse) is greyed out or disabled. However, there are means to unhide them, even removing their read-only and system attributes, using “Command Prompt”.<br />
To unhide the files:<br />
<ol>
<li>Open “Command Prompt” through the start menu or by pressing the windows key + r and typing the letters “cmd”.</li>
<li>Command Prompt will open. Type the drive location of the files for which you would like to unhide. (e.g. L: ) and press enter.</li>
<li>Type the letters –s –h /s /d.</li>
<li>Press enter.</li>
<li>Wait.</li>
<li>Voila. Files unhidden.</li>
</ol>

<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-quUU_EbAy-Q/TvXP3tWJl4I/AAAAAAAAAJo/fUg4IfsZurA/s1600-h/keyboard%2525204%25255B4%25255D.jpg"><img alt="keyboard 4" border="0" height="313" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-lyO32_Ii97k/TvXP-khQkYI/AAAAAAAAAJw/YkXaya3G8Bk/keyboard%2525204_thumb%25255B2%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="keyboard 4" width="400" /></a><br />
<br />
Corruptions in the computer registry or bad registry settings can make all desktop shortcuts and all program shortcuts open another program and change their icons. One of the most common programs that is frequently associated with this program is adobe .pdf reader.<br />
This program, however, could easily be fixed by this software:<br />
<br />
<a href="http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9662689" target="_blank"><strong>Click Here</strong></a><br />
<em>Note: clicking this link directs you to a page where you can download the software which is not owned by this site.</em><br />
<em><br /></em> If you do not want to download the software, you can manually rectify this error by the following methods. Caution must be made, however, to ensure that no greater problem arises from this method.<br />
Here are the steps:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-Ux746mnWTU8/TvXQF5PoOrI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/qvv4QmfDQ4E/s1600-h/Capture%25255B3%25255D.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Capture" border="0" height="195" src="https://lh6.ggpht.com/-kegVzYCwvBg/TvXQM8O9JTI/AAAAAAAAAKA/so-Osy8Fq84/Capture_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="border: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Capture" width="345" /></a></div>
<ol>
<li>First you need to open the notepad to create a registry entry. However, you will notice that clicking notepad on the start menu does the same thing—it opens another program. So you need to open it by: <strong>pressing windows key (that flag like key next to ctlr) + R (the letter).</strong></li>
<li>Type in “<strong>Notepad”</strong> and click “<strong>OK</strong>” or press “<strong>Enter</strong>”</li>
<li></li>
<li>When notepad opens, copy the following texts and paste unto notepad:</li>
</ol>
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00<br />
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe]<br />
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe]<br />
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe\OpenWithList]<br />
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.exe\OpenWithProgids]<br />
"exefile"=hex(0):<br />
4. On the <strong>File</strong> menu, click <strong>Save as. </strong>Change the file name to <strong>fix.reg</strong>, and the encoding to <strong>Unicode.</strong> <br />
<strong><br /></strong>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-0O_TpOzO1CA/TvXQTdxa3-I/AAAAAAAAAKI/ZsT2_RCnY5M/s1600-h/Capture%2525201%25255B3%25255D.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Capture 1" border="0" height="129" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-9ynJItSR71E/TvXQafjCIyI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/M8lQU79EWHk/Capture%2525201_thumb%25255B1%25255D.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Capture 1" width="482" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
5. You could either: a. double click the file and allow it to be exported, or if it doesn’t work, you can b. right click on it and click “<strong>collapse” </strong>or you could try this method:<br />
<blockquote>
a. Open command prompt by pressing windows key + R and typing <strong>cmd.</strong><br />
b. type <strong>REG IMPORT [filepath]fix.reg and then press enter. </strong>File path is the location of the file. Ex. C:\fix.reg</blockquote>
6. Click <strong>Yes</strong> and <strong>OK</strong> when prompted.<br />
7. Restart your computer or log off and then log back on.<br />
8. Voila. Hope this works for you. Please leave a comment for me to know whether this instructions work or if it has problems in it.<br />

This post is in response to a question posted in:<br />
<a href="http://swat3mods.blogspot.com/2011/09/wanton-leaf-ask-wanton-leaf.html"><em>http://swat3mods.blogspot.com/2011/09/wanton-leaf-ask-wanton-leaf.html</em></a><br />
<br />
Given: <strong><em>Operating System – Windows XP SP3</em></strong><br />
<strong><em><br /></em></strong> <strong>Problems are:</strong><br />
<strong><br /></strong> 1. While the user was still logged on to Windows, he noticed odd behavior patterns while opening MS Word (odd patterns not specified),<br />
2. The world calendar and other desktop icons are removed,<br />
3. Windows reboots 2 minutes after a complete startup, and<br />
4. Problem number 3 occurs only when Windows is started in standard mode. Problems does not manifest when Windows is started in Safe Mode.<br />
<br />
<strong>Analysis:</strong><br />
<strong><br /></strong> 1. My idea is that your computer has disk errors which affected some files in your hard drive including those that are needed for a normal startup (say drivers which are not normally loaded when booting up in safe mode).<br />
2. Questions: Has your computer been shut off forcefully by a power interruption? Have you checked your disk for errors in the past few days or weeks or months or years?<br />
3. In this analysis, we are ruling out the workings of a computer malware (virus, trojan, worm, etc.,) Do you have an updated antivirus program? Have you checked for viral indications?<br />
<strong>Solution:</strong><br />
1. Assuming that the computer’s problem is not caused by a malware, then there is a huge chance that the problem is simply caused by a disk error. To repair this:<br />
<blockquote>
a. Boot in safe mode with command prompt. To access the options, press F8 before windows startup.<br />
b. On command prompt, type the drive letter in which your OS is installed. Say C:, so you’ll type C: and hit enter.<br />
Normally, however, you don’t have to do this because the drive letter, by default, is typed into command prompt.<br />
c. type in <strong>CHKDSK /F</strong> into the command prompt box and hit <strong>ENTER.</strong><br />
d. You will then be notified that <strong>CHKDSK </strong>cannot run on the disk because it is in use</blockquote>

Press <strong>Y</strong> and hit <strong>ENTER</strong> to schedule disk check on next restart.<br />
e. Restart your computer.<br />
f. Wait.<br />
g. Boot in <strong>NORMAL MODE</strong> and see if problem is solved.<br />
h. Hope it helps.</blockquote>

<br />
Every ten minutes, by default, while working with MS Office 2007 or 2010, the said program saves a recovery file in with an extension of .asd, for the user to recover a document being created if the user fails to save the file and a power failure or an interruption occurs.<br />
<br />
When a user opens an instance of MS Office, a panel at the left side of the application appears listing all the recovered documents.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh5.ggpht.com/-4OZunMORprU/Tr4UXjI4npI/AAAAAAAAAEc/2Q12x-_jEEU/s1600-h/Recovered-Files13.jpg"><img alt="Recovered Files" border="0" height="416" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-fFAAfZhRMp4/Tr4UcwhZ4RI/AAAAAAAAAEk/t-3eUNfpSAo/Recovered-Files_thumb9.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Recovered Files" width="201" /></a> <br />
<br />
After you close MS Office, however, a prompt will appear asking you to retain or remove the recovery files that the application has saved.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-iXjTE6C5Lmg/Tr4UiHhFb_I/AAAAAAAAAEs/8BrWTqnh27U/s1600-h/Recovery-Files-Prompt11.jpg"><img alt="Recovery Files Prompt" border="0" height="217" src="https://lh3.ggpht.com/-1SZe7sYU0DY/Tr4UnW9z34I/AAAAAAAAAE0/2Gz4--GkOZE/Recovery-Files-Prompt_thumb9.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Recovery Files Prompt" width="434" /></a><br />
<br />
And if, by chance, you managed to remove the files, <strong>IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO, YOU ARE DOOMED.</strong><br />
<strong><br /></strong>
<strong>HOWEVER, THERE IS A QUICK FIX FOR THIS:</strong><br />
<strong><br /></strong>
To recover the files, provided that is has not yet been removed from the recycle bin (that is, the recycle bin has not been emptied yet):<br />
<br />
1. <strong>OPEN</strong> the Recycle Bin and look for files that ends in .asd.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-WTDQ3K3s9Fs/Tr4UqzhlEWI/AAAAAAAAAE8/LFqwLEJYr3o/s1600-h/Recycle-Bin...5.jpg"><img alt="Recycle Bin..." border="0" height="221" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-L7QHXHKh8tk/Tr4UwifTLjI/AAAAAAAAAFE/HLwSs2Mk_dY/Recycle-Bin..._thumb3.jpg?imgmax=800" style="border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Recycle Bin..." width="180" /></a><br />
<br />
2.<strong>CUT OR COPY </strong>those files in the default folder for the unsaved office files (i.e. D:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles; that is if the drive for which the Operating System and the Office are installed in question is the Drive D).<br />
<br />
3. <strong>RECOVER</strong> the files by opening a word instance and hitting the <strong>FILE>INFO>MANAGE VERSIONS.</strong><br />
<strong><br /></strong>
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-80M1IB419dc/Tr4U2Y8SiSI/AAAAAAAAAFM/3HP6Sgpm4wA/s1600-h/Z7.jpg"><img alt="Z" border="0" height="347" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-TiEeVrDeNyw/Tr4U70cH8UI/AAAAAAAAAFU/0v8R3vsvvH8/Z_thumb5.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Z" width="420" /></a><br />
<br />
4. Under <strong>MANAGE VERSIONS</strong>, click <strong>RECOVER UNSAVED DOCUMENTS.</strong><br />
<strong><br /></strong>
<a href="http://lh4.ggpht.com/-TxdEZCaGHNw/Tr4VAjmz63I/AAAAAAAAAFc/CaU6ZJcgLlw/s1600-h/Recover3.jpg"><img alt="Recover" border="0" height="359" src="https://lh4.ggpht.com/-ZUn-3xFCeR0/Tr4VF_myezI/AAAAAAAAAFk/j5Lt1rppDJA/Recover_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Recover" width="389" /></a><br />
<br />
5. <strong>SELECT</strong> the file you wish to recover and hit <strong>OPEN.</strong><br />
<strong><br /></strong>
<a href="http://lh6.ggpht.com/-9DJzjsQhaRY/Tr4VMq_pjDI/AAAAAAAAAFs/XCSBUc__VjQ/s1600-h/Recover23.jpg"><img alt="Recover2" border="0" height="292" src="https://lh5.ggpht.com/-8vBr6jcLFdw/Tr4VTZoVrpI/AAAAAAAAAF0/60s6N0ygf54/Recover2_thumb1.jpg?imgmax=800" style="background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" title="Recover2" width="394" /></a><br />
<br />
6. Voila! Your document is recovered.<br />

<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><b><a href="http://www.google.com.ph/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=Make+Music+Files+Louder+-+How+to+Normalize+MP3%2C+WAV%2C+etc.%2C">Make Music Files Louder - How to Normalize MP3, WAV, etc.,</a></b></span><br />
<br />
Music files, particularly those that are downloaded from P2P sites, are sometimes not loud enough. This may be true also to those music files ripped from old tapes or CD's. The most employed method is to amplify the sound. But amplification is not the only method. Another method is "normalization".<br />
<br />
By definition, when you normalize, you set both channels of the stereo to same levels, thus, a channel, say left channel, with a lower level, will be increased to that same level as the other channel.<br />
<br />
By experience, I found that audio files whose volume levels were increased through normalization, produced sounds that are loud but retains its quality.<br />
<br />
While those of which the volume is increased through other methods are loud but are undesirable.<br />
<br />
The option, though, is up to you. You can either normalize or amplify. Who cares, anyway. It's your file.<br />
<br />
For this method, you will need an audio editing software. I would like to suggest using <b>audacity</b> because its free.<br />
<br />
You can have it here:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://e7f0b62e.ultrafiles.net/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVb_jOH_NDF7gBXzBfL7x5xD0xJ4LD2QmWmvJEv3LMq24Jq1lceJPhf96Nkfqz2jNSqdeMJuGdIZ0LrVRRbwJ5KVhgW7ZILrwNcu26cce4KnNDgJJDr67JRsQYwUneTFMkuZru_lJON7Q/s1600/audacity_logo.gif" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are the methods:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. First, open the music file you wish to normalize by hitting:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
File>Open and browse through the location of the music files. Once found, click OK.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Press ctrl+A to highlight all parts of the audio.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. Click Effect>Amplifier>Normalize</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. Click OK.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. Click File>Export</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
6. Type in the new name of the file</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
7. On the "save file type" drop down list, choose the desire format of the music file (i.e. mp3 files)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<a href="http://7e0fa584.linkbucks.com/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBoh652-XAbOS1Sn0B8GNGifKyku-RcuiCTOkgCt9Cdtv9uFUHbjiFtZMKVySTi0u77XQAnfHNIMTwzH0cYi8gfRHPh0WbY73epbzOSM-Uoa-zN3MEC6m-X6G5gOzIZIHll1k8oSwmHY4/s400/Behead.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Naaah! You can't kill it with an axe! You can't even behead it. Don't think about it, ever.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">You can click the "x" button on the upper right hand corner of the program's window, however and see if it works. If it does, then end of the line for you. Really.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Now, the problem comes when you click the "x" button and it doesn't end (I mean, the program). This is what we call "an annoyingly resilient program".</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Well the program could be a malware, an ordinary program refusing to be closed because of a bug or just any other program that can't be closed.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here are the steps to heaven:</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">1. Right click on the taskbar and click on "Start Task Manager", or</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">1.a. Press Alt+Ctlr+Del, or</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">1.b. Press Alt+Shift+Esc.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">2. Click on the "Applications" tab (but in case you know what the process is you can skip this step and proceed to #4.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">3. Right click on the application you want to forcibly close and click on "go to process"</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">4. Now, right click on the highlighted process and select "kill process".</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">5. You will be ask if you are certain (well of course you are), click yes.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">6. Process successfully and inhumanely terminated.</span><br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGfN6aAOgyIgmnEabEDX04Vi72g2CRQwzMVrtkg-c5S3Z1rwEaGaa8pg_cCetXkWK7IqlFFp9Ef5Xa6_6vPIGmnMfUCRPU-wYzQHhl0h5qfgxTTBYfD8JKaaBscvxekrzzdx6au2TKyOs/s1600/defrag-icon.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGfN6aAOgyIgmnEabEDX04Vi72g2CRQwzMVrtkg-c5S3Z1rwEaGaa8pg_cCetXkWK7IqlFFp9Ef5Xa6_6vPIGmnMfUCRPU-wYzQHhl0h5qfgxTTBYfD8JKaaBscvxekrzzdx6au2TKyOs/s320/defrag-icon.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Disk fragmentation occurs when a hard disk splits up a file and store it separately in hard to reach and different sectors of the disk. This causes the disk to have slower access time when someone tries to access the said fragmented file.<br />
<br />
And although a computer might be unquestionably fast because of its high end and up-to-date components, disk fragmentation poses a threat to this performance. Often, disk fragmentation becomes the bottleneck of most of the PC's performance.<br />
<br />
Think, for example, of a bottle. A wider bottle (bigger circumference of the cylindrical bottle) should, by theory, empty itself faster than a narrower bottle of the same volume. However, this performance, this emptying performance, is limited by the size of its bottle neck. However wide a bottle is, it's performance is as low or as fast depending on the wideness or the narrowness of the bottleneck, not of the bottle--as if the real size of the bottle is determined not by its body but by its bottleneck.<br />
<br />
The same principle applies to the computer. No matter how fast a computer is, it's still as fast as the slowest computer part--this time being the "fragmented disk".<br />
<br />
Luckily, there are numerous free programs that exists in the net today which offers "Disk Defragmentation". And even if there aren't, Microsoft has added a built-in, free, disk defragmentation tool in your copy of the "high and mighty" Window 7.<br />
<br />
You can access the disk defragmentation tool by the following method:<br />
1. Click Start and on the search box type "defrag".<br />
2. You will see a program named "disk defragmenter", click it.<br />
3. Choose the disk you wan to defragment and click "defragment disk".<br />
4. Wait.<br />
5. Try to use your computer and see for yourself the difference in file access speed hence computer performance.<br />
<br />
You can however use this program to better manage your disk defragmentation ability:<br />

<a href="http://7e0fa584.linkbucks.com/" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj56Duczyow_jYD3EsEZWvCad-raBWWXalAOUA_QRa0oxlNPp-Gh5gpMcIQJwAmLh0KqBAp5KacLeCv-QOFuKpXuDiu3UIY1rYwP87jQiPWebdhgF5dZQiOHjVbGehdMa8a8mrgddw_w0E/s400/Wallpaper+1-+iTech+Wonderland.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I have seen many computers wherein there are many programs opened (displayed in the taskbar and in the notification area) and if I ask the owners if they opened them or if they knew what the programs are, all I get is a "shrug" and a "no, I don't know" answer. Most importantly, most of the people I asked said they didn't even start the program or, worse, want to start the program in the first place.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Because of this, most often than not, those people are probably those people who complain about slow computers and that they blame everything to a viral infection. While some of them are actually right about a malware activity slowing down the performance of their computers, some, and the majority of it, are wrong. Their computer are slow because multiple programs run in the background without them knowing it.</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Here are some simple steps to disable programs that starts when you start (boot) your computer without using a third party application:</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">1. Press Windows Logo Key + R (Or click "Start" and type "Run" and open it).</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">2. Type the word "msconfig" without the quotation marks.</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> b. Audio/ Video Drivers with added services,</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">6. Sometimes, you will see entries of malwares as they are easily distinguishable from other valid entries. Here are some hints:</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> a. They have random names,</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> b. They have the same name as a valid application, only misspelled, and</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> c. They reappear after you delete them (if you check startup again after reboot)</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"><br />
